Lots has been going on the last couple weeks! Greg was away on the ship for a week, so Langley and I kept busy while he was away. We spent some time with the Arnold's one weekend. Definitely a nice break for mom and very exciting for Langley!

I also embarked on my first birthday as a mom!! Langley and I had so much fun together that day. Sometimes I forget how special it is to have this new little girl to spend my time with, and that day it really sank in. We had a great night. Some of our neighbors came over to celebrate. We had take-out and an ice cream cake!

And today is Langley's 7 month birthday! What a big girl she is getting! She is still scooting along like a wounded soldier. :) Sitting up great! Her baby laungauge is expanding, and is into sticking her toungue out and blowing bubbles. We have moved onto the fruits recently, so eating has gotten much more exciting for her. Sleeping is not going as wonderful as it was 2 months ago. She is giving her mom a wake-up call a lot lately. And we enrolled her in sleeping bootcamp, but so far she is not passing!

Here are a few pics from the past couple weeks...

We visited Grandma and Grandpa Arnold when Daddy was away. I made it through the nursery at church this morning all by myself for the first time!! I was a little sad when mommy came to get me though.

Grandma got me a special seat so that I can eat! I love my high chair toy too!

I love to play with Andy's hair.

Reading books is fun, and eating them is even better!

So glad Daddy is home to entertain me....things were really starting to get boring without him!

Round 2 of church didnt go so well! Today the nursery was very scary!! Mommy came to save me, and she played with me in the nursery. The nursery wasn't scary at all with her in there. I had the best time. :)

This week we went to a Mommy and Me group at a park in La Jolla. It was such a beautiful day, and I think I could have played all day on the blanket.

Another one of Langley's favorite spots is mommy's magazines. How do babies know exactly what they aren't supposed to get into?

Today Langley made it all by herself onto the coffee table. Of course I was with her to watch her head, but no help from mom. I decided to let her explore this time, but I think this will have to be "off limits" in the future!

Langley listening to some tunes. Consider this her first guitar lesson! Greg has found this is the perfect thing to calm her during her fussy time at night Win - Win for both of them!

We practice sitting up in the crib. The hardwood floors aren't as forgiving.

Langley is sitting up in her stroller. She had a lot of fun going to the eye doctor with mommy.

Langley is really into her toy basket these days.

Do you think we have enough toys???? The "basket" is a little small. :)

Langley in her new high chair. Time to eat!

So far Langley has been a pretty good eater. She doesn't have much patience to eat, so we have to move fast. So far we have had cereal, peas, carrots, squash, and green beans. Where's the good stuff, mom??

Lucky girl gets to stroll and nap with this view! This day it was a little chilly out, but this week we have had gorgeous weather! High 70's!

Langley has her first scrape. :( We have a squirmy child! We were in the church parking lot on Sunday, and Langley was in her stroller for 30 seconds before reaching out and falling gracefully on the cement!! Greg and I were both there and couldn't catch her in time. Luckily she only had a scuffed nose and forehead. Lesson learned for the parents-strap in immediately!!

She concentrates on her blocks for a long time! The boppy is her new landing pad.

On the prowl!

Today we went to the park with our buddy Finn. Langley got to swing. She laughed out loud the whole time. Loved it!

WEE!!

Hi everyone! This is Sarah online, and WELCOME to our new family blog! We have taken the plunge into the world of blogging! This is definitely new territory for me, so bare with me as I dabble in the ins and outs. I am amazed at how creative people are with these things, so I am feeling pretty good I got a template set up so far. (Greg says "toooo girly"!) Anyhow, I figured with us out here on the west coast, that a blog would be the perfect way to keep our family and friends in the loop...as little or as much as they want to be! I think the greatest thing about this is it turns into a virtual scrapbook that you can look back on years later. So I guess one day Langley can look back at all the crazy stuff we post about her. Let the fun begin....

Christmas 2008 was spent in Aiken, South Carolina with my family. Langley had a blast with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Todd.

We went to Christmas Eve service. Langley barely survived the nursery there. She was ready for mom and dad to come save her. :)

Langley was so happy to dig into her stocking that Grandma made for her. She was so lucky to get lots of new toys. She loved her first baby that Grandma got her and her silver rattle from Uncle Todd. Of course she loved all the paper the most!!

We went to Hopeland Gardens to see the Christmas lights.

Grandma and Grandpa watched Langley so that Greg and I could get our first overnight away from Langley. We went to Charleston for the night. It was fun! Not many pictures from that, just a pretty church. And Langley didn't even know we were gone!
The Arnold's came down to San Diego to babysitt so that Greg and I could go to his work Christmas Party. Not the best picture since we look like giants in front of our mini Christmas tree! Thought you might get a kick out of Greg's favorite Christmas pants. :)

Langley got her Christmas duds on that night for some photos too!

Langley started eating rice cereal over the holidays. She is getting more and more into it food. She is a better eater when daddy is home to watch her.
The Arnold's also came down for New Years Eve to babysitt! Thanks so much Deanna, Norm, and Cindy! Langley loves you!
