We are so excited to have our fam back together again and to have Daddy home!! Homecoming day was fun...full of anticipation and utter happiness. The helicopter landed at noon on Sunday, Sept. 9th after 7 months of deployment. It was a bit drizzly and cloudy, but there were no delays in landing so we just counted the minutes all morning. We got to the squadron about an hour early and waited anxiously! The power was out, so it was muggy, and memorable going to the bathroom in the pitch dark. :) As well as the radio's to the helicopter weren't working, so we just looked to the SKY! I have never seen the kids more excited as they saw his helicopter do its 'fly by'. They were waving their flags, dancing, jumping, cheering, shouting Daddy. It was an unforgettable-happy moment for all of us! :)
What a big boy Mason has become since Greg has left. So excited to see Daddy.
Langley was busy rolling chairs all over the hanger with another little girl both so excited.
Mason was so thrilled to just be in the hanger with the other helicopters. And I really felt like he knew what was going on!
I was amazed at all the officers and families that came out to support those that were coming back for a sunday. It was really nice. There were 5 pilots coming off the helicopter, and the rest of the detachment was coming in on the Ship the next day.
Langley was ecstatic. I love this one with Mason getting some air.

So thankful for all the guys to be back with their families safe and sound! And to have Greg home with us! So grateful for my friend from church, Scott Lawrence, for capturing our homecoming and for the many others that passed on their pictures to us. So nice not having to take any and to have them to look back on. We are enjoying our family time. No vacations yet, just enjoying the simple things that we missed doing as a family for seven months!
