We were so excited to have a get-a-way with just our family after a long deployment. Really just being at home together the first few weeks felt like a vacation! But since it was October in Jacksonville and was still feeling like the summer the mountains were calling.
We started in the city. When we first got to town we checked out a local taco spot. So yummy. We felt like a local and the Sangria hit the spot.
Next to the restaurant was a train track with tons of graffiti. I think it brought out Langley's inner Diva. She was striking all kinds of poses. And these are the tame ones.
You know cool people live in Asheville when 'old crow' is written on the side of the wall.
Greg and I stopped by the Grove Park Inn years ago. Such a neat spot! It was fun to explore with the fam. Love this huge fireplace!

We explored the town of Black Mountain one day.
Then we were off to East Fork Farm to escape all the hustle and bustle. It was such a peaceful, relaxing spot. We were greeted by our sheep when we got there.
That morning the fog was rolling in...reminded me of all the years visiting the Smoky Mountains.
The colors were slowly trying to get brighter. Not quite at their peak.

Every night was game night in the cottage. Langley always beat us in Memory. While Mason tried to throw the cards everywhere.
Saying goodbye to Sam. Langley was so sad! Cried buckets. She really loved him.
We hiked to a waterfall and had lunch.
