Mason is a Half-Year old, yes SIX Montheroos!

We have loved all 6 months of our little man!  Mason is so happy and has gotten so active these days!  He is doing everything possible to cover ground!  He started with rolling himself across the floor and now he is on hands and knees shooting himself along.  And has already figured out what is NOT a toy and that is what he WANTS!  How do babies do that so early?  He always makes me laugh when he has our shoes, baby wipes , diapers, etc. in his mouth when all his toys are surrounding him!
He has three foods on his palette at this point -  brown rice, oatmeal, and just last night we gave him green beans.  Did not like the green beans!  He gave us a very ugly face each time I gave him a bite.
He has grown to love his exersaucer.  We are working on the bumbo seat, but he usually just arches his back to try to get himself out of the thing.  :)  He doesn't like to sit still!
He now gets a nightly top off around 11 and will sleep until 6:30 or so, with an occasional need for his binky (which means i have to get out of bed! ughh).  Although we aren't so quick to do that these days, because we want you to go back to sleep on your own Mason!  :)

It is awesome being a mom and getting to know the personality of your child!  All the small little details that only a mom knows...like how he sleeps, what he does when he eats, his routine, how he wiggles and reaches when you change his diaper, what he does when he is tired, and the things that make him smile and giggle.  It has been so fun learning these special, everyday things that make up Mason!  We love you Mason!

Happy Fathers Day!

Langley was so excited to give Daddy breakfast in bed!  Especially with the special mug she made him.  The whole idea of eating breakfast in bed seemed a bit silly to her.  But then she said, "well daddy does like to sleep!".    :)
A super dad with his sweet children!

Tea Time with the Girls!

Little girls and tea parties are just the cutest thing in the world!  It makes me realize how much I love having a girl!  Langley and I met some friends at a tea room last week.  Hudson, sister Sydney, and Langley had a ball in there little girl wonderland!
Langley was so excited they had an Alice in Wonderland outfit.  (A new favorite of hers!)  And the white headband was her finishing touch.
Just doing a little ironing before the tea party starts.
They spent lots of time getting everything ready!
 Manners Ladies!
So sweet to see them helping each other!
Mason was the token 'prince' at our tea party.
Such a great girly mommy memory for me!

Better Late, than Never Month FIVE (and a half)!

What a busy month we have had with Mason!  We can't believe how quickly everything with baby #2 is going!  I am just trying my best to embrace all the special moments as they flash before my eyes.   He is just the sweetest little boy I know!  I mean look at all his smiles?
This is a frequent scene at our house these days.  I walk away for a moment, and we have playmat on one side of the room and Mason on the other.
Love how he looks back at me and grins and then tries his best to keep going!
I had planned on holding off until 6 months to feed Mason, just like I did with Langley.  Doctors seem to say different things.  My theory---I am going to be feeding these kids the rest of their lives, why rush it?   But right at 5 months, I decided to go ahead and feed the boy!  He is a big fellow and likes to eat, especially at night, and I thought this might help him sleep a little more soundly.  Not quite proven true yet.  I think I will be in sleep training mode very soon...especially now that I am sure that little belly is full!  This momma needs some rest son!
Keep on growing Mason...just a few weeks away from a half a year!

Cookin' out, beach-going, zoo-visiting, daddy's b-day filled Memorial Day Weekend!

Sigh...it was a busy one and  so fun!
Langley and Greg have been talking birthday pinatas for a long time now.  We never really got to the homemade grizzly bear pinata that daddy requested(uh, kinda busy here?!), but  he was pretty happy with the green lizard we picked out at the party shop.
We had a blast celebrating at a pool party with our San Diego buddies that are now Jax buddies!  (you can see our whole gang 'timer' group pic on fb if you'd like :)
Have you ever tried making an ice cream cake out of ice cream sandwiches?  My first time and it was really good and so easy!
Here is Mason enjoying the beach Sunday afternoon.  My only picture of the fun times we had with our small group at the beach.  (darn!)  The kids had so much fun and the Lebrons made the best shrimp boil for us afterward!
I took both of the kiddos out of the house one morning, so that Greg could get some studying done and enjoy some peace and quiet on his birthday morning.  (nice wife i am! :)
I decided to brave the zoo on a hot day with two kids!   Langley fed the giraffes for the first time.
We didn't last long in the heat before hitting the splash park.
Isn't this great?
My silly girl hardly got herself wet!  (more to come on the ISR swimming we just started!)
I was dying to go in myself, but instead I was tied to the bench feeding mr. mason, while trying to convince Langley to GO PLAY!  :)
We were more into exploring this cool playground.
I guess the zoo isn't just to see animals anymore?
Sitting in the birds nest.
And we ended our weekend with a bbq with our new military friends here in Jax!
This is Mason's mad cry!  We don't see it very often.  Already crying over the ladies!
Greg with his little sailor!
Any weekend that has a party for each day is my kind of weekend!
I loved being around our military friends as we celebrated memorial day and remembered the many who have died while serving our great nation!  You are not forgotten!

Last Day of Preschool!

We can't believe the last day of school has come!  Langley had such a blast attending East Point Church for preschool this year.    She talks about her classmates all the time and will miss them this summer!
She loved her teachers Ms. Cindy and Ms. Cary!  She gave them special cards to say farewell.
The last day, all the parents came for a party.  They had one last circle time for us.  My favorite was her singing 'Bringing home my baby bumble-bee!'  So cute!
Here is Langley saying the Pledge of Allegiance.   :)
What a fun year!
