Valentines 2014

We'll start with the class party.  This was the last one for the year, where has the time gone?  I think they had a good time.
We played games.  They were really getting into it and thought it was pretty funny when they missed the bucket.  Which was probably a little on the small side!
Here is Langley stacking her hearts with the chopsticks.
Langley with her friend Paisley.  We brought the kids heart glasses made out of pipe cleaners.  They were a little pokey, but i was surprised they actually kept them on for awhile.
We played musical hearts and then ended with a little dance party.  Langley was definitely getting her groove on!  Made me laugh!
That morning Langley was excited to take her teacher some girl scout cookies.  She found out that her favorite was thin mints, so she couldn't wait to give them to her.  She made butterfly pops for her friends.  Lots of glitter gluing. :)
And Mason decorated some "love bugs" for his friends at parents day out.  Benefit of moving is that you can use all the same ideas over again...the kids wanted these again, so it was their pick!
Valentines or Halloween?!  Loved going through all his valentines after school and mostly loved the candy!
And at home....Good morning valentines!  We continued our valentines breakfast tradition this year.
Rather than sugaring up the kids even more (after school candy explosion), we decided to get the kids a toy.
heart bacon and heart watermelon with our favorite strawberry donuts.  yum!  eat your heart out.  lol.
Love all the Valentines I have in my life!  They are pretty special!

Ski bunnies!

We decided to brave a day ski outing at a close by "hill" in Iowa this winter.  We had fun!  You can see here that there was no ski lift for the kids...i almost broke my back pushing these two up the hill!    :) But they definitely had a good time.  Mason did not want to stop and was anxious to make it all the way to the orange cones he was aiming for.  Langley slowly got the hang of it, and is still talking about our trip now and then.  I think a real mountain might be in store for next year!   And maybe some lessons...not by mom, who doesn't know what she is doing?!
I need lessons just as bad as they do!  I am terrible.  I hung on for dear life every time i went down.

Days of fun this winter.

Lucky mom getting help with her candles.
Langley had a Daddy-Daughter Dance with her daisy scout troop.
Sounds like they were the life of the party.  Even serenaded me as they came back into the house with some of their moves!  :)
Langley and Mason enjoying a snow day!  The aftermath of snow play and hot cocoa!
And embracing the few warm days that came along where we could play outside.  Thank goodness for these!
Mason pooped out on the floor.  Who wouldn't choose to nap by the fire?
Painting at the forest during mud pies.
She's getting the hang of it!  Skate City for monthly school outing.
