One Saturday morning I took the kids to 'Pioneer Day' at the Timucan Preserve. I didn't know much about it since this was the first year for the event and had just read about it in a flyer. Greg was home sick, and I decided to be brave and take the kids solo. And I say "our adventure" because we had a little trouble finding the right spot :) .....and after going to the wrong place, we ended up waiting on the Ferry going to the other side of the bay, while it poured down rain on our car. Langley was singing her 'rain dance' song in her seat and saying prayers since I only had the little kitty umbrella for the 3 of us! In the middle of it all I had contemplated plan B! But luckily all our singing and praying worked, because the skies broke for a couple hours while we were there with few sprinkles on us! I just loved it. Reminded me of my girl scout days. :) They were cooking food in big cast iron pots, making tools, dying cotton, spinning thread, and churning butter.
Oh, and I forgot to mention shooting guns! While we ate our picnic lunch...which didn't go over so well with the kids. We had to move! :)
