Three Years with Mason Man!

This post is mostly for me, so that I can remember our Mason man just as he is at three years old!  So hard to believe that three years have past.    I can't believe a couple months have already passed since his big day, and he has already changed so much.  Turning into a big boy fast over here!  So many great memories with this little guy this past year.

He is full of energy, hasn't slowed down yet, always jumping, running, gliding on his bike--burning energy!  He loves to dance and sing.  In the car, he is always asking me to 'turn up the music!'. He loves his favorite 'diego song' and 'pb jelly' and 'blackbirds'.  He loves serenading us with his new preschool songs at the dinner table at night.  He likes to shake it and one of his favorite dance moves is a somersault...just part of his roll.  He's not really into our new family christmas present the wii--just dance yet--totally surprised me.  Kind of taking it shy with that one...He prefers 'dance parties'.  ;)  On the same note, he has a competitive little spirit--likes to win already? geez, how does that happen at 3?  I guess his older sister always has him racing and running from here to there, and he figured out that winning is what he wants to do--of course.  Sister is also learning to let him win on occasion!  This makes for a much happier brother.  And now to the many years ahead of teaching him that winning is not the name of the game!  :)

He's definitely a go-getter so far!  He loves to swim and he thinks he has it all figured out.  :)  No need for momma to help him....danger-zone!  I think it will click this summer...He is so ready to do it by himself, yet he refuses to wear a flotation device.  I think this summer it will click--fingers crossed.  He refuses to wear any kind of flotation device.  Will scream for it to be off the minute I try.  This winter he tried skiing and ice skating for the first time.  I loved watching Mason take on ski-ing He has continued to love dolphins, anything in the sea and 'hot wheels' this year.  He loves to play with his bugs.

Get-a-way and G&G hold down the fort!

We had a busy and fun November before all the holiday hustle and bustle started.  Grandma and Grandpa Haberkost were with us most of the month which was a treat for everyone!  We graciously asked them if they'd like to watch the kiddos, and they decided to brave it out! ;)  Greg and I were lucky to get-a-way for a little while!  We went to his 20th reunion in San Diego and then a few nights in Punta Mita, Mexico.
The kids stayed busy with Grandma and Grandpa!  Exploring Omaha!
I heard about a morning at Dunkin Donuts.  They were spoiled!!
Hikes in the forest and a trip to the gingerbread house display.
20th reunion here he comes!  :)   We had a good time!  We missed both of our ten years, and a few of  Greg's buddies were reeling him back for this year.  He was glad he went!  We hadn't seen many of them since we had been engaged.
Off to Punta Mita!  Its hard to adjust to quiet and peacefulness!  I didn't know what to do with myself! :)
I had heard some mixed reviews on Mexico--but can't say anything bad about where we were.  Loved our resort and all the restaurants in town were so, so good.  The happy hour was always at sunset and was so pretty!
i look like the party girl here.  lol!
We visited a little surf town called Sausalita one day.  I loved the character of the town and seeing a touch of how the locals live.
Celebrating 11 years!  Wow, how time flies!  It's been an exciting adventure together.
And here is poor me before sea sickness hit!  I don't know why I haven't learned to take dramamine yet.  Looking back I was still so glad that we went on the paddle board and snorkeling excursion.  The island we went to was really pretty, i managed to snorkel through the nausea, and Greg paddle boarded like a champ.  While i watched from the island with my new friend who was also feeling seasick!  :)
So thankful to have some time to rejuvenate, but ready to come home to my babies too!  I must commend my parents for diving right into our busy schedule back at home.  Surviving the kids activities, along with school pick up and drop off---my dad was the new favorite man on the street :)--, and even poor Langley ended up with the stomach bug!  Grandma was washing lots of sheets.  So reality definitely hit!  Very thankful for them taking care of everything while we were away!

Halloween 2013

Halloween finally is here!
One night we took to our pumpkins.  You can see Mason was not too thrilled about getting his hands in all those guts!
Daddy had to show him how it was done.
Ready to go!  Mason was going for a Monster look and Langley was happy to put hearts on her face.
You can see they were a tad excited about their costumes and more so the candy.  From Day 1 of Halloween chatter, Mason was insisting on being a shark or dolphin, so we were lucky to find a shark costume that he loved.  Langley was a little more uncertain this year.  We started with Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, but the costume wasn't fitting too well, so she picked the girly pirate instead…and I think she loved it even more.
Mason kept running around acting like he was going to bite you.
Trick or Treating here we come.  He had a sucker in his mouth the entire time.
This girl was hard to catch a picture of.  They ran the entire time!
No shortage of candy around here...
post under-roo sugar high bliss. ;)
