Arbor Day Farms Apple Festival

I was so excited to hear about the apple season being big here in Omaha--Yay!!  We had so much fun getting back to some apple picking.  We always used to do this in California.  I love the Fall!!  There are a few places to pick apples very close to our house, but we had heard that Arbor Day Farms was worth the 45 minute drive.  It was so nice!  They had an apple-jack festival going on this weekend, so there was all kinds of stuff going on in the town...but we stuck to just the Farm...maybe next year we will do more.
This is pure joy!  A lady had made these bubble wands from sticks and some kind of string.
Pop!
There was a nice trail with lots of things to explore.
Being silly in the tree house.
 Two itsy bitsy spiders...
These two are always making obstacle courses through our house, so this was the perfect place to get this out of their system.   Langley could have sat in her spider hammock all day.  While Mason loved the colorful fabric hammocks they had.
Until he found this little creek...hours of entertainment.
And wood blocks...we haven't even gotten to the apples yet?!
Finally....now onto the farm!!  :)  We snuck a few apples before getting on the hayride around the grounds.
Why do I think dead sunflowers are so lovely?!
And I have an obsession with these black seed pods...all dried out.   I don't know...I love the texture, the color, the change of season...they are pretty!!
It looks like we found some apples!  And there were a ton of them!
 Aww moment with Daddy.
Loved having a little family time to get away from our hectic schedule and relax!   Love to see Mason's crazy personality beaming through in this one.  He's going through this silly face phase.  :)
I think this one might take after his Grandma Deanna...the apple snatcher!!  ;)
We will definitely be back here every year!   The apples were good too!

My baby Mason starting Preschool!?

I'm not sure "baby" and "preschool" are supposed to go together...but I guess I'm not ready to move past "baby" yet!   And here in Omaha he only qualifies for 'parents day out' based on his age...so technically we aren't there yet.  :)   But, he sure was ready to go!  All smiles that morning and excited to meet new friends!  More chalkboard craziness.  This little boy is a Dolphin lover...his Grandpa Don taught him all the technical names of the different varieties from his sea figurine kit. :)  He says, "mom, where's my 'common' dolphin, 'white sided' dolphin??"  And the 'bottle nose' dolphin remains his favorite...my future marine biologist!  And cars have always won over trains with this little guy.  But planes aren't too far behind!
i had to post all of these because every little face he made i fell in love with.
What a sweet little boy you are!
i loved hanging out with you on the porch that morning just soaking my baby up!  xoxo

Girls Night

First time posting from my phone!  Making most of carpool line time on this rainy day.  Langley and I headed to the fun plex for her schools family fun night.  Mason was sick, so he had to stay home with daddy.  Rides, golf, go karts...kids heaven!  So nice to have the place to ourselves!

First time mini golf!
They rode this caterpillar a lot!  I remember doing this when I was a kid.
Loved doing this together...we were speedy's!
Sweet times with my baby!  Love you Langley!

OH...The Places She'll Go! Kindergarten here we come!

After a long summer, we were so anxious, excited, nervous, and happy about starting Kindergarten!!  I'm not sure who had more of these feelings--me or her!  :)  Langley loves going to school...which makes the send off easy and hard for a mom!  We had fun going to get her supplies.  Here she is decorating her notebooks with fancy duck tape--her idea!  Cute Langley! :)
The day before school started we visited the school to see her room and meet her Teacher.
Saying hello to Ms. Pfeifer!  Langley has said nothing but great things about her teacher.  It's her first year teaching!
We got home that night and we had a package.  Just in time for the first day!  Thank you Grandma!  :)
Langley was so excited that night.  She had found out that 2 of her new neighborhood friends were going to be in her class.  This was huge...and I think all butterflies had diminished!  She decided to make up a song about going to Kindergarten.  Great performance!  (oh my--and you can see from the background that i am still trying to get organized around here.:)
Back to school breakfast!  Langley wanted to wear her backpack at the table.  We decided that at her feet would be fine.
First day pics 2013!!  I decided to break out the chalk board like every other mom in America this year.    :) Hopefully I will keep it up and do it every year.
Off to Kindergarten!  This is where a momma needs to hold it together...seeing her baby all confident and proud...heading off!

Loved her sweet smile that morning...
And for the record...
Study hard Langley!!  You are going to have a great year!!
