Sarah 34 Sweet Years!

Yes, here I am on my birthday in my sweats after running around with my munchkins all day!  Oh how birthdays have changed!  But for the better when seeing the joy and excitement in Langley for her mommy's birthday.  She was very excited about the cupcake cake she got for me, and you can see her eyes are fixed on just that!  We have had fun eating it the past few nights for dessert!
Big thanks to Greg, Langley, and Mason for making my birthday so special!  I am a lucky gal!

Mason One Sweet Month

It is hard to believe that Mason has already been with us for one month!  It has been so fun getting to know this newborn phase all over again with Mason.   Definitely seems easier with the second baby.  Just if we knew all we know now with the first!  But he still keeps us on our toes here!  We didn't anticipate so many showers at diaper changes and the number of leaks we had in the beginning is a little embarrassing.  And I sure don't think there is a way to avoid the tired factor!  Mason has kept very, very busy this first month of life.  Sleeping and eating are on the forefront of his mind(if you call that busy!).  We are working hard to sort out his days and nights, and I think we are almost there.  And now he usually gives me one to two wake-up calls at night, which isn't so bad for month one!  We are all routing for him to sleep through the night very soon!  But as a mom, I have learned never get too used to a good thing!  His personality is really calm and laid back for the most part.  He is very tolerant of his diaper changes, cold wipes, and his bath times.  Just hates getting that nose sucked and waiting on his momma tending to his sister isn't much fun either!  Can't she hear me?  His awake times are much more alert now, looking at all the blinds, fans, shadows, windows, and our lovely faces.  He plays circus between his swing, bouncy seat, activity mat, and moses basket.  But he loves to let us know that his favorite spot is in someone's arms.  He loves to be held or even just the company of someone sitting next to him!  And of course being the momma, I am already convinced he is smiling at me (real ones)!
Snoozing in the swing.
He loves to give us smirks and puckers while he sleeps.
Love a baby right after a bath!
We think Mason has a long torso like his daddy.  Love those long, squirmy arms and legs!
Mason, do you miss your swaddle?  You know they are really tired when they sleep contently without a swaddle.
I think he looks like his Uncle Todd sometimes too.

What an exciting month of life!  Now slow it down for me!

Momma Langley, Keeping Busy, and Happy New Years!

Langley is slowly coming to grasp life with her new baby brother in our household!  We have had one memorable breakdown, where Greg and I thought she was never going to stop crying, but since then she has been handling everything quite well!  She just needed to let it out!  :)   She has been such a trooper and has done really well doing her best to stay busy while I am busy feeding and taking care of Mason.
Langley loves to play mommy with her new baby boy, "Pierce Otis".
Langley did not want me to take pictures of his dirty diaper.  She was very upset with me!
She loves to clean Mason's stuff!  We have quite the little homemaker on our hands!  She spends lots of time wiping down his swing, bouncer, and car seat with baby wipes.  Loved the finishing touches she put on his swing here.  Very creative Langley!
Also LOVE anything that keeps her busy!  So proud of her creation.
Langley loves helping me keep Mason awake.  She loves showing his sleepy eyes his toys!
Greg had off of work for 10 days of baby leave, so Langley has got to go on lots of adventures with him.  Here they are checking out her new bike seat with a ride to the playground.  We are a little late on this bandwagon, because I think Langley is almost too big for it!
We had a quiet, cozy New Years at home as a fam.  Many of you know Greg loves fireworks!   He is always sneaking off the highway on roadtrips to buy his firework stash.  So we took advantage of that stash and had a little show out front of our house to ring in the new year!  Silly girl wanted a popsicle on this cold night!  Little miss mis-match...
Watching the fireworks from inside is a little less scary!  Gosh, daddy did you have to pick the loudest boomers?
Cheers to 2011!  Happy New Year to all our friends and family!  We love you!

Home Sweet Home!

After two nights in the hospital with Mason, we were all anxious to bring him home!
All ready to go and one final snooze in his tub at the hospital.
He slept through the whole journey and arrival.
My sweet mom made our welcome very festive!
Langley was surprised to see us back with her new baby brother!
All the gals checking him out!
Wait a minute...that's not Mason!  As Langley would say "sneaky, sneaky!"
Love some baby cheeks!
My parents spent a couple more days with us, before heading back.  They got lots of holding time in.  Lots of time watching Mason snooze and enjoyed those rare moments of open eyes!  Forgot how much they sleep the first couple weeks!

Baby Mason Two Days Old

We are loving getting to know sweet baby Mason!  I know he is going to grow so fast, and I just want to remember these sleepy days, his squirmy wiggles, and sweet faces he gives us right now.  I think it is still sinking in that he is ours!  We love you little boy and so glad you are with us now!

Welcome to the family Mason Boyd Arnold!

After all the excitement and anticipation of Christmas day, things just got more exciting around here!  Our baby boy decided it was time to arrive!  Mason Boyd Arnold was born the day after Christmas at 3:40 in the afternoon weighing in at a whopping 9 lbs. 7 oz. and 22 inches.  I was so happy to have him in my arms!
Mason looks a lot like Langley's newborn face here.  We love the little cleft in his chin just like his Grandpa Norm.
Enjoying his first shampoo!
Probably the sweetest moment of my mommy-hood was seeing Langley meet her baby brother!
So happy with there two grand-babes!
I think Todd said to me, "Nice work Sarah".   :)
Mason's timing was perfect for meeting all my family while they were still in town.  A perfect ending to there stay with us!
